Get Over It Fernando Torres!

By on August 6, 2011

Fernando Torres is back at it again. Six months after leaving Liverpool in a wave of acrimony, the beleagured Chelsea striker persists in sticking the knife in on his old team.

“Liverpool’s future isn’t looking bright,” he said.

“I always gave them a 100%, but it was a difficult situation.  Even though I felt like I was a big part of the club, you have to also look after your personal ambitions.

VOdds

“For me, that is winning trophies and unfortunately that doesn’t look like a possibility for them.

“It’s no coincidence that Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and myself all left Liverpool. It was always about ambitions. I played for Liverpool for a few years and had some great moments.

“But when a club like Chelsea, with bigger potential, come calling, it’s hard to say no  especially when it looked impossible to win the League for Liverpool.”

Talk about sour grapes, jeez Torres we adored you at Anfield. Yes things were very bad under Woy Hodgson, but everyone from Jamie to Stevie and many others put a shift in, even though they knew he was the wrong man for the job, they toughed it out.

The Liverpool players, unlike yourself, did their best and with the return of Kenny Dalglish, we will make serious progress this season. You haven’t exactly made great progress since leaving Liverpool, sorry about burning your shirt, too bad, stuff happens.

You did play really well for us for two years, thanks for that and thanks for the £50 million quid which we made good use of.

So stop having a go at Liverpool FC and concentrate on your new club Chelsea.

Dude, Relax! He didn’t say all this stuff. It was made-up by a Swedish article and most people have already come to know about this. Oh yeah, spending 35M on Caroll, 20M on JH, 20M on Downing is really great use of money. Keep up the good work!

Name has nothing to do with it you dumbo! If you had 30M in 2006, you would certainly have bought him as you had all-time great strikers, Cisse,Baros, sry don’t even remember names of those mediocre players.

thats true…but at least carrol amd ‘latest legendary english transfers’ are unplayed and unproven….torres? 2 goals in what, 20 matches??…and one of it is in a friendly….amazing buy….wish we could all live up to the bar that chelsea set on transfers!

that article was wrote 6 month ago when he signed just stupid journos trying to annoy pool fans again, dont write off carroll, henderson, downing until the season is over and then we will all know whether they are worth the money,in all honesty i was sad to see torres go but we got suarez in who is better for 23 mill was a bargain, also chelski have a good record for buyin overpriced players and flops since 2003.

      August 6, 2011 at 1:53 pm

WHAT? Are you kidding? Are you a Liverpool fan? Whilst you refer to that well known flop, Shevchenko, I cant think of many more (Mutu doesnt count, he was sacked) Turnbull? Free, Pizarro? Free, Del Horno £8million broke his leg. I wouldn’t count many others as flops as they were good for us and played part of a squad for a long time-whilst we were winning lots, and they decided to move for their careers rather than us wanting to sell. Including players like Wright-Phillips who played some blinders for Chelsea, hence why he is a fan favourite.

As I wouldn’t count our free transfers I won’t count some of Liverpool’s such as Cole (who was also very good for us), Veronin or Pellegrino

However I can think of a few at Liverpool – starting with Babel £12 million, (your short sightedness has made you forget) £18million Aquilani, Josemi, Morientes £7million, Gonzalez, Bellamy £6 million (great player, just not for Liverpool), Robbie Keane £20MILLION, Itandje, Paletta, Dossena £7million,.

Those being just Benitez’s signings. Considering the amount of Chelsea managers they’ve had and the number of players bought I would say they haven’t wasted nearly as much. You’ll always have bad signings at a club with a high number of signings. The percentage at Chelsea isn’t that bad.

Chelsea bought Drogba, one of the most feared strikers in world football for 10 million less than Carroll. A lot at the time but worth every penny.

Man Utd also have a bad record, Obertan, Cruyff, (Berbatov took 3 seasons to settle, as did) Nani, Bebe, the list goes on.

In conclusion Chelsea probably have a better bad signing ratio to that of any other top club (apart from Tottenham or Everton). Arsenal have made some shockers.

In all fairness the above players you mentioned above were the right players for Liverpool to buy, I just don’t think Rafa ever used them correctly. Babel will be brilliant this season I bet you, you could tell by his body language that he was the sort of player that needed a pick up from the manager and Rafa didn’t do that he never instilled any confidence in the team, so players would get down and not be picked back up

Chelski fan, remember one specific transfer saga involving mr.Obi Mikel???
Your club ended up paying £12m as compensation to the ManUtd – which is real funny, because the actual price demanded by his parent club was only £4m!!!
So sod-off with your kidnapper-scumbag club..

Liverpool made him a great goal scorer. Now he will be a nobody elsewhere. Bye bye Torres!

    • sam

      August 6, 2011 at 12:33 pm

Liverpool did not made him a goal scorer he was born to score at just a young age of 19 he was the caption of ATm Liv bought for 25m a huge some at that time…the price itself shows he was the Goal Machine. I am sure he will shine soon

      • LFCEVO

        August 6, 2011 at 3:16 pm

Torres has proved himself as a goal scorer in numerous occasions throughout his career, problem is if you look at those occasions he was always ultimately depended on and doesn’t seam the same when he’s not needed to carry the team

thanks for a couple of great seasons, shame your last season you didnt seem to make much effort. in hindsight a good time to part ways.
we got £50M for you which was great business for us as we replaced you with a front line that would be a handful for most teams.
i think we sold you at your peak to a team desperate to sign you. hence the great business.

judge torres after the 2011-2012. even though he dumped liverpool to the anger of many red fans, he could not possibly have made that kind of provocative comment. i hold that it was a cheap false media spice

  13. Faab

    August 6, 2011 at 11:55 am

Even if torres said dat, liverpool lack ambition he is right. There are also struglin in pre-season now, concedin a total of 15 goal in 5 matchs where is the defense. And i think is it time dat liverpool fan realised they are loosin dat fourth place n da legue.

    • dave

      August 6, 2011 at 12:56 pm

This statement just shows you know absolutly nothing about football, clearly some glory hunter that thinks he knows everything. Liverpools pre-season has been a second string of players with big for sale signs around their necks or some youngters getting some valuable experience. I would hardly say getting KK, DC and SC in and spending on Suarez, Downing, Carroll, Henderson and Doni as a back up keeper before the transfer window is even over is lacking ambition!! It’s called reality and you should take a big chunk of it for yourself, Those signings so far are to make a strong assualt on the top four places next year and get CL football which can then be used to strengthen further next year. Chelsea and Man city need owners who dont try and run the team over the head of the managers they have got in to do exactly that and Arsenal will fall to pieces this year simply because of Wengers stubborn childlike attitude. Manchester United have lost their best midfielder and haven’t replaced him giggs is getting old and Fergie is seriously worried about what is happening at Liverpool (as he himself stated in press conference). I suggest that you actually learn what the game is about and not just hear names an think you know it all cos all you’ve done is show that you actually know absolutly nothing when it comes to football and should maybe be looking at websites more suited to children. Idiot!!!

… What pre-season got to do with it, chelsea supporter?

What about Chelseas last pre-season? Yeah true they lost alot of them, and yet placing in top4 @ PL.

      So pre-season is just BS.
Its to try out new players, and various of formations, tactics.

If you gonna judge a team for a good/bad pre-season, then you must be a sad little kid.

And for that matter, this “Exclusive Torres story is picked up from Aftonbladet.se PLUS (something you have to pay to read) its all cooked up.

Its actually so bad cooked that you wanna puke, for example “in the end of the season Torres left.” he left midseason. i wouldn’t call that END.
Naming Alonso in the article and compare that to Torres, U kiddin’ me!

Anyways the season ends in May. we will se then.

Muppet with no clue Ken another glory hunter that thinks he knows it all.

      • Alexander Stables

        August 6, 2011 at 2:11 pm

so any fan of a team that wins things is a glory hunter? who would want to support city unless you’re from Manchester?

For all you know Ken could be an Arsenal fan! Get over the fact Liverpool haven’t won anything for a while. History means dick all to us fans unless you have it .

Great you won some cups in the past, and the number you’ve won is impressive and you should be proud of it but it hasn’t done much for clubs like Leeds or Nottingham Forrest. I think its sad to have people rub this in our noses the whole time. We’re making history now. You used to gloat at Man U fans but can’t do that anymore. Liverpool will win things again for sure and as a football fan I hope they do, it’s boring to have domination, that’s why for me, last seasons premiership was the best thus far, even though my club didnt win but the best club did. At one point there were 4 clubs in it.

But I think you can be dignified in your silence. Torres was 27. Lets face it, it is unlikely he would have won the league in the next 4-5 years with Liverpool. Which is how many top years he has left in him so he went to a club with a better chance, not to say he will, but a better chance than Liverpool at the moment. I think that’s fair. Frustrating but fair. At least he was honest about it from the start. There are worse. Torres has never bad mouthed the club even after all the hatred. And why would he, he’s a gentleman and loyal.

Check out Aguero on the otherhand.

  15. Liam

    August 6, 2011 at 12:24 pm

Torres is a massive liar. If he gave Liverpool 100% all the time, Hicks & Gillett were perfect owners. He talks a load of sh*t. I don’t know why he’s STILL talking about the club he left more than 6 months ago. Jeez, move on already.

Torres you were loved mate by so many people but not heard of suarez! who needs torres when we got suarez and at 30plus drogba is still a better striker than you, he’ll teach you how to dive at chelsea! it was written all over your face last season that you made a mistake leaving LFC and because you scored 2 goals against weak teams you think you made the right decision. LFC are a team Chelsea are just glory hoggers not team players. to me it looks like you miss liverpool like its your ex always saying snide comments. your days are over.

Torres Is Just Prick simple’s. He was saying for 2 year’s Liverpool Need investment we bought all these top player’s and he’s jumped ship because he thinks he’s better of at Chelsea. No chance. There’s one reason he’s stuck the knife and that is because he’s jealous tbh and proves what he is a 24 caret Nob! He’ll so never be forgiven by us fan’s.

  24. Felderkirk

    August 6, 2011 at 4:32 pm

I have nothing but respect for Fernando Torres and I personally think a lot of Liverpool supporters have embarrassed themselves on their actions since he left the club. I’m not saying they were wrong, I just think they should have thought before saying/doing some of the things they did.

In the end, I was gutted he left because I think him and Suarez would have been amazing together. But contrary to what people say, he didn’t really leave us in the lurch. We made good money on him and at least he didn’t choose United.

I miss his goals, but I respect his actions. I don’t think he said a lot of these ‘quotes’, but it really doesn’t change much even if he did.

Torres is a bad professionist and a bad role model for any young Liverpool lads.
During bad moments He was the first to run in direction of Anfield’s tunnel after any home games and He jumped from the ship in January showing no respect for the magnificent Club (Liverpool are regarded as one of the european CLubs with the best traditions) and the Fans.
He could easily go to Barca at the end of the season but not, He had absolutely got his rich move to the richest Chelsea.
Dickhead. He showed no passion, no commitment, no gratitude, no love for the Fans Who adored him and for The Club which made him a star. The fact He’s persisting to talk about Liverpool, putting Pool in a dark light, it proves that He fears to become a total flop and He fears the Liverpool’s progress.
And on Downing: Have You watched him today shining at Anfield??
    He’s a gem, a total gem: brilliant.
A classy Winger with pace and ability.
Downing is a money well spent, for a bargain and money grabbing like Torres.
Did the fans burn his shirt? Is this embarassing? And the lack of heart & respect He showed for the Club and The fans is as weel embarassing.
