Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Line Up £23m Defensive Pair

Arsenal To Step Up Interest In Cahill

According to various reports, Arsenal are going to step up their pursuit for Bolton’s Gary Cahill, due to the concern over Thomas Vermaelen’s latest injury. Cahill is reportedly one of the Gunners’ top defensive targets, but they are reluctant to pay his 17 million pound release clause and whose contract expires next year.

In my opinion, I believe that Cahill would be a good signing for the Gunners, as he’s great in the air and on the ground, and good with the ball in his feet. I believe he would do well for the Gunners, but let’s see if the Gunners make a bid for his services.

Bremen To Listen To Offers For Mertesacker

According to Werder Bremen’s General Manager, Klaus Allofs, the club is willing to listen to offers for Germany international Per Mertesacker, whose contract is set to expire next year. Here’s what Allofs said to The People:

“We are willing to discuss a transfer for Per. “We have promised him we will listen to serious offers.”

The report also suggests that the Gunners are willing to launch a bid of around 6 million pounds for his services. Mertesacker is a player who had a poor season, and may be a risky signing. But when he’s focused and at his best, Mertesacker is a very good defender, who’s a good reader of the game, has great positioning and is great in the air. He could be an excellent steal for Arsenal, if they sign him.

Cheers and take care,

I think pples sud reason atleast ones with arsene, truly the situation is fraustrating and annoying but we sud put some things in consideration as well, let still hold on to our faith and believe in him…am sure he will make us proud,it is nt just abt buying players but to buy players that we really need bcos Arsenal is not Man city…with all the calibre of players they hv got they couldn’t win community shield cup,my gunners faithful am sure things gonna be ok,AW will surely buy more players….one or two,,either good or bad i remain a gunner 4 life.

Wenger did good in his last signings w/c he has made it for the arsenal midfield, but the greater frustration is where Wenger will tie up to fill the usual opening there at the back: that was my question for the last two years. Please mr Wenger could you sign Gary for any price you asked?

That Nasri and Fabregas are tired of the “stagnated” Arsenal FC is in “red and white”. It’s a tough one but Arsene Wenger should sell these players and swiftly find replacements within the remaining days of August 2011. But the post-2005 Arsene Wenger (that we now know) would bank the cash for his predatory Board to munch other than re-invest it in quality signings. The uncertainty is rumbling-on but a tricky CL play-off with Udinese is looming and cracking EPL fixtures are awaiting the gunners. Typical Arsene Wenger is insisting with a clownish defence – they have been leaking and banging-in own goals throughout the summer’s build-up matches. Signing “infants” like Oxylade Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson suggests that Mr. Manager, stuck in his soccer illusion, learn’t nothing from last season’s bizarre implosion. A thick and dark cloud continues hovering ominously over the Emirates stadium. Strong “pain-killers” are required ahead of the new season – for the fans who will stay-on to watch Arsenal matches with manager + Board. For Arsene, it’s de-ja-vu time – he is back, in his suits brandishing water bottles – he will kick the bottles (again) along the touchline throughout the 2011-2012 season. I am so fed-up and nauseous, I can’t stand a picture of Arsene Wenger.

sign mertesacker and either samba or cahill.i think it would make a great defensive pair. Also arsenal should try and sign a new goalkeeper(adler or akinfeev).Arsenal should sell nasri for 20 million pounds and go for mata.

Mr wenger pls try and both cahil and samba. Becos samba is capable of playing at the central midfield.
