I was supposed to write about my thoughts on the pre season. However, I couldn’t watch all the games so i can’t have a specific opinion about it. Just a general one. For that reason, I’m going to tell you guys what I think about the pre season, and some predictions for next season. You may agree or you may not agree. We’ll have to see.

Let’s start. Our pre season started in a good way I have to say, I can’t say extraordinary because -with all due to respect to Malaysia XI – Arsenal is a better team. We won 4-0 that game. Everything OK.

The games that were after that one were all a disappointment to me. It seemed in all of those games – especially Emirates cup and the Benfica friendly – that Arsenal hadn’t learnt their lesson, yes, how to hold on a lead. In those three games arsenal found themselves with an advantage but ended the game with a draw/loss. Same old story. Perhaps the players’ form was not the best, yeah, so was our opponents’ players’ form. We should have claimed the victory in all 6 games, but instead we could only win twice, draw 3 times, and lose once.

I must admit, that I did agree with the booing after the game against New York Red Bulls, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of the booing, but that time the players deserved it for not showing hunger, I mean, 60,000 or so people paid a ticket to watch a good show, and what they got was Arsenal missing chances and then seeing their beloved team missing out on a clear win they must have had. But oh well, it’s only pre season.

Cesc & Nasri Leaving

Next season is something unpredictable actually. Teams have strengthened up in a satisfactory way, and we have only bought Gervinho and two teenagers. We seem to be on the verge of losing both Fabregas and Nasri, which could be either good, or bad.

Good because the money we get from those sales will be supposedly reinvested but reinvested on who? More teenagers? If that’s the case it would be a bad move. Looking at the positives Cesc’s sale would mean a change of formation, a new style of play, probably based on attacking play, not just the same old passing display we used to watch every week. Probably. For me, Nasri doesn’t deserve to wear the red & white, he’s such a greedy man, and I think we all agree on this one.

If Cesc and Nasri both leave and they are replaced in a good way, also, and if we buy a new CB – as a cover for Vermaelen/Koscielny – this would probably be our season, if they aren’t replaced and we don’t buy a new CB, then we’ll struggle to even qualify to Champions League.

Great news have been announced this week, the signing of Chamberlain, that English winger who comes from Southampton who’s been tipped to be as fast as Theo Walcott, but with better technical ability than Theo at that age. The Japanese wonder kid Ryo Miyaichi – who a year ago was playing schoolboys football – has been granted a work permit to play with Arsenal next season. Great news, I’ve been very impressed with him in this pre season, his pace, skills and strength took him where he is today. Great talent.

I’ve been very impressed by Rosicky as well, it seems that we’ll see the best of him – like we did when we sign him – next season. His passes and scoring ability have seriously improved. Let’s hope for the best he can keep that form for all the season, he’ll be very helpful.

I’m certain we will finally end our trophy drought this season, just keep the faith. That’s all folks.
