Bale: Spurs Will Be Fine Without Modric

Gareth Bale insists Tottenham will be fine if the club decides to sell Luka Modric to Chelsea.

The Croatian is rumoured to be on strike in an effort to engineer a move to Stamford Bridge, although Harry Redknapp disputed this claiming the player didn’t travel to Old Trafford due to his ‘head not being right’.

Modric has made no secret he wants to leave White Hart Lane this summer, but chairman Daniel Levy refuses to sell the midfielder. The Welsh winger claims Spurs’ will be fine without Modric, but hopes he decides to stay:

“Luka is a fantastic player,” Bale said. “I’m not sure what the situation is with him but I think if he is here then he’s great for the team, but if he’s not then we have to get on without him.”
