Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is pondering a sensational £14million swoop for out of favour Man City winger Adam Johnson.
The Manchester City wide man is deemed surplus to requirements at the Eastlands being nothing more than a backup player for City’s star studded squad.
Wenger will be desperate to add much need ammunition to his squad this summer and according to reports this weekend, the England international has been identified as the creative spark needed for Wenger’s young guns.
It has been one of the most difficult summers Wenger has endured whilst in charge at the Emirates having lost his skipper Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester City.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of midfielders during the course of the summer including the likes of, Eden Hazard, Yann M’Villa and Kaka. However it is now thought that Wenger is keen to renew his interest in the 24-year-old City winger, after going in for Johnson when he was at Middlesbrough.
The former Borough wide man has found it difficult to establish himself at the Eastlands and will find it increasingly difficult after the arrival of Nasri. Roberto Mancini does rate the 24-year old but doesn’t seem him as a first team regular and could be snapped up for as little as £14million.
