New-boy Juan Mata scored on his Chelsea debut as the Blues beat Norwich 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Jose Bosingwa opened the scoring with a long range bullet but Norwich struck back after a Hilario error through Holt. Frank Lampard restored the home sides advantage with a penalty before sub Mata got the third late on.
