Arsenal Ace Backs Arteta & Benayoun

Andrey Arshavin feels Arsenal’s new midfield signings Yossi Benayoun and Mikel Arteta have improved their squad.

The 30-year old who is out of contract next summer is pleased with the business done by Arsene Wenger. The duo will add much needed experience to Arsenal’s young guns with the pair boasting over 300 Premiership games with Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and West Ham respectively.

“When people say no-one is irreplaceable I don’t agree. With [Mikel] Arteta or whoever replaces those who have left, we will play different football, not as we played with Cesc and Samir,” he said.

“Arteta and Benayoun have long proved themselves in the Premier League, they’re not bad signings. And we needed strengthening in those positions.”
