Chelsea Star Admits He May Leave In January Window

Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka says he’ll consider his options when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka says he’ll consider his options when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The Frenchman was reportedly close to a move to the MLS in the summer but talks fell down between the club and the player, but he feels he needs to reassess things in the winter window despite claiming to be content at Stamford Bridge.

“I am linked everywhere but when you are linked it doesn’t mean you want to leave,” he told chelseafc.com. “I like Chelsea and first of all wanted to stay, that’s why I am still here. I will see what happens in December and if I am still here I will see what happens in June.

“I am happy here, I like the club, everyone here, and after I will see what happens. It is not only down to me.

“I have been here almost four years now, and I am pleased with the way it has been. It could have been even better but I am still happy.”

Anelka will be a free agent next summer allowing the striker to leave Stamford Bridge for nothing.
