Szczesny Stuns Arsenal With “I Will Go To Barcelona” Claims

Just when Arsenal fans thought they had seen the last of their players being linked with Barcelona, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has declared he could see himself playing for the European Champions.

Szczesny has been one of the stand-out performers for the Gunners this term, putting in several eye-catching performances, including a vital penalty save against Udinese in the Champions League play-offs.

Reports in recent days have linked the giant Pole with a move to Barcelona and the 21-year-old has fuelled the fires by claiming he would be open to a move should he leave Arsenal. Responding to questions over his future, Szczesny told Polskathetimes.pl:

“I can’t declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona.”

The stopper signed a long-term contract last year and has recently declared his love for the North London club but these latest comments will not be easy reading for Arsenal fans after the long drawn out affair involving Cesc Fabregas’ return to Catalunia and the last thing they would want is another first team player being touted for a move to Spain.
