Former Liverpool Great Backs £50m Anfield Duo

By on October 5, 2011

Liverpool hero Gary McAllister believes Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson are still adjusting to life at Anfield.

McAllister feels the pair are still wrestling with expectations at Liverpool, with the pair costing the club over £50million but backs the duo to come good eventually.

“I think Kenny Dalglish will be pleased with how the season has gone so far,” McAllister told talkSPORT. “He’s just getting his new players bedded in.

“Stewart Downing has done particularly well and, of the new singings, he’s done the best.

“It’s going to take time for Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson. The expectations at Liverpool will be a surprise for them.

“They’re young, they’ve just moved away from home for the first time and there’s a lot of pressure on them. They’re good players though.”

Liverpool fan here, Im amazed at how many people jump to criticise Liverpool players before they settle. Some players are good as part of a team as they play a part and so do the other 10
With them at one time. Good managers build teams, other mangers buy them, even then it takes a whille for things to happen. Other supporters don’t rush to put pressure on their players, rather they actually get behind them. Look at the Chelsea fans and how they stuck with Judah even when he was at his lowest. Let’s learn from them how to get behind our lads, only then we might win something.
