Villas-Boas Waiting On Torres Decision

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas hints that striker Fernando Torres will be involved in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League tie against Genk.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas hints that striker Fernando Torres will be involved in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League tie against Genk.

Torres is currently serving a domestic suspension and watched Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Everton from the stands, but he will be available for the Champions League tie and the Spaniard is expected to start against the Belgian outfit in order to get some game-time.

“If we don’t decide on him, it will be a long time out of the game,” said Villas-Boas. “But he has been keeping fit in training and played for Spain.

“It’s just a decision we have to make, bearing in mind what we want for the team.”

Villas-Boas has refused claims that his side have one foot in the knock-out stages with an easy game against Genk.

“I think it’s going to be difficult,” he said ahead of Wednesday night’s clash at Stamford Bridge.

“When everyone expects you to win, that’s when you maybe relax yourself too much and we can’t relax ourselves too much.

“At the moment, the group is very open, and anything can happen. We lost two points in Valencia that we wanted badly.

“We have to focus and concentrate on getting the six points against Genk.”
