Dalglish Admits Confusion Over £20m Henderson

Kenny Dalglish admits he does not yet know Jordan Henderson’s best position but insists he has a bright future at Liverpool.

Kenny Dalglish admits he does not yet know Jordan Henderson’s best position but insists he has a bright future at Liverpool.

The 21-year-old made the £20million switch from Sunderland to Liverpool in the summer but his price tag has appeared to have brought with it, undeserved pressure which see Reds fans and Daglish alike still waiting to see the best of what the player has to offer.

In Liverpool’s two major games this season against Manchester United and Everton the midfielder has been left warming the bench, much to his frustration.

But, after Lucas picked up five yellow cards, leaving him suspended for the Norwich game on Saturday, Henderson suddenly has a way back into the starting line-up. And whilst Dalglish has revealed he is yet to know the best position for Henderson, he believes the former Sunderland player has a bright future at Anfield.

“I don’t know his best position yet – but I know his best club and that’s this one,” said Dalglish.

“We just want him to play and enjoy playing. He’s a talented footballer with a great future in front of him and we are just delighted he chose to come here.

“He’ll be here for a long, long time and he’s going to be a tremendous asset for us. He’s got patience too.”

He added: “He’s a young boy who has come down from Sunderland and is starting to settle in really well now.

“He’s another option for us in midfield this weekend. I’ve just got to make the right decision.”
