Eden Hazard will be leaving his current club, Lille at the end of this season, and it is a decision which has been supported by his former team mate and now Arsenal striker, Gervinho.

The Ivorian forward signed for Arsenal from Lille for £10.7 million during the summer, and he believes that Hazard has all of the qualities to succeed at a bigger club:

“He’s a young player with tremendous qualities. If he thinks it is time to leave, he must have thought it through.”

“He has the qualities to succeed abroad. All the major players want to break through to the top level. He has learned a lot from Lille, he will grow a lot abroad.”

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of Hazard’s, having monitored his progress for a number of years, and many Arsenal fans will be hoping Gervinho and the Belgian attacking midfielder can be reunited at the Emirates. Wenger has said previously: “We are following him (Hazard). Personally I think he has real talent and the level needed to play at Arsenal”

As unlikely as it is that Wenger will spend the required amount Lille will demand for their highly sought after 20 year-old, thought to be at least £35m, Arsenal can cling onto the hope that Hazard will follow his childhood dream and sign for the London club. The Belgian, who has scored 33 goals and assisted 27 in 158 Lille appearances said last year:

“If one day I leave Lille, I will go to Real or Arsenal. Real Madrid and Arsenal are the clubs I dreamed of joining as a child.”

However, Hazard will have quite a few more option than just Real or Arsenal to choose from.  Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are all thought to be interested in the Belgian, as well as italian giants Inter Milan.
