Man Utd Transfer News: £20m Target Laughs Off United Link

Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan has cooled interest linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The highly rated Argentine has been linked with a move away from Portugal after his excellent debut season in Europe, with Man Utd rumoured to be one of a host of top clubs interested in his services.

Despite the speculation the 23-year old remains committed to Benfica, and when the £20million rated winger was asked about praise coming his way from United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, he claimed the only way he’ll be playing on the Old Trafford pitch will be when Benfica go their in the Champions League.

“The closest I’m going to get to Manchester United is when I go there to play in the Champions League,” smiled Gaitan.

“I just want to play well for Benfica and reach the final 16.”
