Arsenal have been boosted in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund ace Mario Gotze, after learning the player would be interested in a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are just one of several clubs tracking the talented German, with Premier League rivals Man Utd and Liverpool also thought to be keen. However, according to reports over the weekend its the Gunners who have caught 19-year-olds eye.

An apparent ‘source’ claims Gotze was impressed by the Emirates stadium as well as the playing style adopted by the Gunners, following Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in last weeks Champions League encounter, and would like to join the Londoners or European champions Barcelona when he leaves Dortmund:

“He likes the way Arsenal play the game and for him there are only two clubs where he’d like to play once he moves from Dortmund – Arsenal or Barcelona.”

Arsenal have been linked with a £30m move for the attacking midfielder and it was also reported that club executives met before the Champions League game to discuss a potential move, but the Germans said they were not prepared to entertain offers for their prize asset just yet. So Arsene Wenger may have to wait to get his man.
