REPORTS: January Real Madrid Swoop Mooted

Spanish giants Real Madrid have identified Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Liverpool’s Glen Johnson as potential signings as Jose Mourinho searches for a new right back.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have identified Tottenham’s Kyle Walker as an alternative to Liverpool’s Glen Johnson as Jose Mourinho searches for a new right back.

The La Liga leaders have identified right back as a position that needs strengthened with former Liverpool player Álvaro Arbeloa currently occupying that role.  Madrid have been linked with another raid on Liverpool in recent weeks, this time for Glen Johnson but reports this weekend claimed that Mourinho has turned his attention to Spurs youngster Kyle Walker.

Walker burst on to the scene last summer with some impressive displays at the UEFA Under 21 Championships and has since forced his way into Harry Redknapp’s first team plans at White Hart Lane, and also Fabio Capello’s England set up.

This form has not gone un-noticed and it’s claimed Mourinho now prefers a move for the younger Walker over Johnson, with Real weighing up a January move. Madrid’s interest will not be welcomed by Daniel Levy who will reportedly demand a fee of around £20m for the 21-year-old ace.
