Arsenal Fans Rejoice As Striker Hints At Move

Arsenal fans had some positive news over the weekend when Marouane Chamakh hinted that he is ready to leave the club.

Now as an Arsenal fan i’m not usually one to want to see players leave the club, but in the case of Chamakh, I will make an exception.

Despite a promising start, the Moroccan has been a complete flop since his move from Bordeaux 18 months ago. He does try hard at times but i think it’s clear he doesn’t have the required qualities to succeed at the Emirates, or in the Premier League for that matter.

12 goals in 18 months tells it’s own story, although many of those came in the first 3 months of his Arsenal career when he was a regular starter during Robin van Persies absence. As soon as van Persie returned, Chamakh’s confidence slowly drained away and he’s now half the player we thought he’d be.

It’s best for both parties if he quietly moves on, preferably in January, but it seems the player will wait it out until the summer before making a move in search of first team football:

“I am 27 and I need to play. I cannot stay like this forever. I won’t leave in January but I will take an important decision in June,” he said.

“I was surprised by the offers I got last summer but my priority was to stay at Arsenal. A return to France? If so, it will be to Bordeaux.”
