Mario Gotze Latest – Huge Blow As Dortmund Insist “Mario Is Staying Here”

Clubs chasing German starlet Mario Gotze have been dealt a blow after Borussia Dortmund insist they are not interested in selling their prized asset.

Clubs chasing German starlet Mario Gotze have been dealt a blow after Borussia Dortmund insist they are not interested in selling their prized asset.

Gotze has become one of the hottest properties in world football since breaking into the Borussia Dortmund team aged 18, whilst also becoming an integral part of German national team set up.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the 19-year-old creative midfielder in recent months, with all believed to be considering making a January move.

It was initially thought that Dortmund would be looking for at least £30m but according to reports today, the German giants now value Gotze at nearer £50m due to interest from Real Madrid and a number of top Italian sides.

However, even with a hefty price-tag Dortmund have no intention of selling their star man any time soon, with managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke telling interested parties they would be wasting their time even contacting them:

“All I can say to all these clubs is they should save themselves the cost of a phone call, because they will be wasting their time and money contacting us. Even if someone rides out of the desert and makes us an offer, it would make no difference. Mario is staying here.”
