Man City Reject Liverpool’s Move For Carlos Tevez – Report

Liverpool have enquired about the possibility of a swap deal involving Andy Carroll and Carlos Tevez, according to the Guardian, but City rejected the offer

Manchester City have rejected Liverpool’s enquiry regarding a stunning swap deal involving Andy Carroll and Carlos Tevez, according to the Guardian.

The report claims that Liverpool officials contacted City football administrator Brian Marwood on Thursday to ask how much they wanted for Tevez and also asked if they would consider a straight swap deal for Andy Carroll.

Unsurprisingly, Marwood is said to have rejected to proposal out of hand despite the complicated situation surrounding Tevez.

If accurate, this report clearly demonstrates that Liverpool are looking to get rid of misfit Carroll, despite Kenny Dalglish insisting he has a future at Anfield.

Carroll has only managed to find the net on six occasions during his 35 appearances for the Reds since his big-money move from Newcastle almost a year ago. His partnership with Luis Suarez has failed to developed as first hoped and Carroll has struggled to justify a first team place on a regular basis.

The Geordie still has time on his side, and showed at Newcastle he has the ability to be a handful, but his confidence is already rock bottom, and waking up to find stories in the media that Liverpool are trying to offload him won’t help.
