In the midst of all the transfer drama of deadline day, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Reebok to face Bolton.

Wenger gave Arsenal.com the latest team news and it’s largely positive, which makes a nice change. Bacary Sagna, Johan Djourou, Thierry Henry and Mikel Arteta are injury-free and available, although Wenger was cautious with Sagna and he may still be a bit short to start tomorrow, which is understandable given the length of time he’s been out.

Here’s the full update Arsene gave on Arsenal.com

on Bacary Sagna…

He is in the squad. Sagna is a bit ahead of Kieran Gibbs training-wise. Sagna is a bit early still [for tomorrow] but you never know. I might consider it because I have to check all the recoveries of the players who played on Sunday.

on Johan Djourou…

Johan was back in full training today so he is available.

on Thierry Henry and Mikel Arteta…

They are both ready.

on other injuries…

We have no injuries. But it was a very demanding game physically against Villa on Sunday and it is important that we recover and prepare well for tomorrow night.

The boss also gave positive news on the return of left back Kieran Gibbs, who returned to full training this week after three months out through injury. Gibbs is not yet fit to start but its great to have him back and hopefully he can get a run of games under his belt without further injury problems. Here’s what Arsene said regarding his return:

“He had a normal training session yesterday,” confirmed Arsène Wenger on Tuesday morning.

“He is still short to play now but it is good news to have him back and I think one or two more weeks practice will get him back to being available again. That is very positive.”

So things are getting better on the injury front. Only Jack Wilshere, Andre Santos and Abou Diaby remain as the long-term injury concerns of note. If we could get Jack back we’ll have something that resembles our first team available! When was the last time that happened?
