Tottenham have received a double injury boost after both Kyle Walker and Rafael van der Vaart declared their injuries are not serious.

Spurs secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over bottom club Wigan at White Hart Lane last night but Walker and Van der Vaart were both substituted with the pair seemingly carrying knocks.

Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed on Sky Sports News after the game that he had a mounting injury list, saying:

“Kyle Walker done a groin. Emmanuel Adebayor felt his hamstring and Rafael van der Vaart injured his calf.

“Jermain Defoe injured his hamstring and Aaron Lennon has the same injury.

“We seem to be getting a lot of hamstring injuries. I don’t know what’s happening.” Redknapp said on Sky Sky Sports News

However, right back Walker used his personal Twitter account to tell fans his withdrawal from the game was just precautionary and the injury will not keep him out for any length of time:

Dutch playmaker Van der Vaart also used the popular social media tool Twitter to ease fears over his own injury, also declaring that he went off as a precaution due to his calf feeling ‘uncomfortable’:

The news will come as a major boost to Tottenham, who have some vital fixtures to navigate in the coming weeks starting with a trip to Anfield on Monday night.
