[Video Highlights] Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn: RVP & Chamberlain Destroy Rovers

By on February 4, 2012

Arsenal battered 10-man Blackburn 7-1 at the Emirates today with Robin van Persie bagging a hat-trick and youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain helping himself to a brace. Mikel Arteta also got on the scoresheet before substitute Thierry Henry scored his first Premier League goal since rejoining the club with a late deflected strike.

It was a devastating performance from the Gunner and was the perfect way to kick start our season after a disappointing start to 2012. It puts us right back in the mix for that all-important fourth spot with Chelsea playing Man Utd tomorrow, while Liverpool play Spurs on Monday, so we can sit back now and know at least two of our rivals will be dropping points this weekend.

These lads should not be playing this kind of football – from what everyone is saying. We fans keep rubbishing Walcott, and he has answered back in the right way!
Now they need to hold their nerve and move forward with courage, confidence and total commitment.
Hoped the organiser of the bin-liner brigade did remember to jump in his bag and parked himself in a bin some distance from the stadium, due to the smell.

Arsenal fans are so flicker-minded. Just a thrashing of a low tier team is enough to make them forget our inherent weakness as a team. And Walcott answering back? In a single game? Don’t get me laughing. He is still the same one-dimensional player he is. Did he change in this game? Answer is No, we will still suffer with him on the pitch in future tight games.

Enjoyed the win very much. But agree with all who said that we thrashed a woeful Blackburn team. It’s a flattering result which should not disguise the fact that we are still not good enough. But will take every win we can get.

This woeful team beat us during the 1st round. I do not know whether this woeful team has suffered such a heavy defeat yet this season. Yet we cannot just enjoy the victory and take some positives from it. AOC’s performances should cheer an objective gunner ans so should Coqueline’s. When Jack Wilshire comes back into this team, we will be even better. When Santos and Gibbs are back and Vermualen gets back into Central defending, then we will be more solid. The victory gets us closer to a top four finish and gives us hope that we could nick the F.A. cup. Let us be positive.
