Liverpool vs Tottenham: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score

Liverpool welcome Tottenham to Anfield tonight with both sides desperate to pick up all three points. Here’s team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.

Anfield Kop

Liverpool welcome Tottenham to Anfield tonight with both sides desperate to pick up all three points. The Reds currently sit seventh in the table after victories for Arsenal and Newcastle this weekend, so Kenny Dalglish will be keen secure a win that will see them move within two points of fourth-placed Chelsea.

A win for Tottenham will put them just three points behind Man Utd and five behind league leaders Man City, so three points are needed to maintain the Londoners title push.

Team News

The big news for Liverpool is of course the return of Luis Suarez after serving his eight game ban. Kenny Dalglish has to decide whether to bring the Uruguayan straight back in and sacrifice Carroll, who got on the scoresheet last week against Wolves.

Steven Gerrard should also return after being rested for the mid week win at Molineux.

Tottenham have several injury worries ahead of the game. Rafa Van der Vaart, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kyle Walker and Ledley King are rated as doubtful. Walker and King are likely to be fit, while Van der Vaart and Adebayor are less certain.

Louis Saha is on standby to make his debut should Adebayor be ruled out.  Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon are likely to miss out, and will join William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone on the sidelines.

Sandro is in line to return after a long injury lay off and Harry Redknapp may opt to play two defensive midfielders at Anfield.

Predicted Score

The outcome of the match could hinge on what team Harry Redknapp is able to field. Should the visitors line-up as above, they will have a great chance of taking at least a point away from Anfield. However, should the likes of King, Adebayor and Van der Vaart not make it, i can see Liverpool winning this one.

Liverpool are undefeated at Anfield this season, but have drawn on seven occasions. The most likely result tonight is Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham.
