Rooney Tweets – Suarez Should Have Been Sent Off

Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney believes Luis Suarez should have been sent off for kicking Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker during last night’s 0-0 at Anfield.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes Luis Suarez should have been sent off for kicking Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker during last night’s 0-0 at Anfield.

Suarez started from the bench after returning from his eight match ban for racially abusing Rooney’s team-mate Patrice Evra. The Uruguayan came on for the final half hour and within minutes was caught up in controversy once more. With the ball dropping in the area, Suarez and Parker jostled for position and as the Spurs midfielder headed the ball clear Suarez kicked him in the stomach. You can watch a video of it here.

The referee gave the striker a yellow card for the incident, but Rooney used his personal Twitter account (@waynerooney) to make his feelings clear. The ‘Tweet’ is shown below, where Rooney suggests that if the referee has seen the kick, then he should have shown him a red card instead of a yellow:
