Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has given the club a much needed injury boost, after confirming on his official Facebook page that he hasn’t suffered any ligament damage to his knee and should return within days.

Koscielny was forced off during the Gunners 4-0 demolition at the hands of AC Milan on Wednesday with a knee complaint and it was feared he may have damaged ligaments, which would have ruled him out for at least a month.

However, it seems we’ve finally got some good news on the injury front after the player announced on his Facebook page that he hasn’t damaged any ligaments and will be back after a few days rest. Here is what he said (in French, with a basic English translation):

“bonne nouvelle de laurent aucune lésion ligamentaire avec quelques jours de repos le boss va revenir”

“good news from laurent no ligament injury with a few days of rest the boss will return”

With Per Mertesacker already out injured, to lose another defender as important as Kos would have been a huge blow, especially after the debacle at the San Siro. Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Sunderland will probably come too soon for Laurent, but he should be fit to face Tottenham next Sunday.
