Junior Hoilett - A wanted man

Contrasting reports have emerged over the future of Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett with both Arsenal and Tottenham reported to be leading the race for his signature.

The Canada-born midfielder will be out of contract in the summer and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs after some impressive displays for struggling Blackburn this season.

The Metro claim that Arsenal have now moved ahead of Liverpool, Tottenham and Man City in the race to land the 21-year-old, with manager Arsene Wenger believed to be a fan of his style of play, which is similar to current Arsenal players Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

They also report that Hoilett is attracting interest from Bayern Munich but the winger would prefer to remain in the Premiership next season.

However, the Mirror believe it is in fact Spurs who are favourites to sign Hoilett after sending chief scout Ian Broomfield to watch him in action during Blackburn’s draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Interesting stuff and whoever does end up signing the pacey youngster will have grabbed themselves a bargain, as Blackburn are only likely to receive a nominal fee for his services, with the exact amount settled by a tribunal.
