Arsenal ‘Determined’ to Land £10m Dempsey Despite Liverpool Interest

Arsenal will try to beat off competition from Liverpool and Newcastle to sign Fulham forward Clint Demspey this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims the Gunners have regularly sent scouts to watch the USA striker in recent months, and they have convinced Arsene Wenger that he would be a great addition at the Emirates.
Dempsey has bagged 22 goals already this season for Fulham and his contract situation means he could be available at a knock down price this summer. The 29-year-old’s current contract expires in 2013 and he’s stalling on discussing a new deal, and the Mail suggest that Arsenal are ‘determined’ to fight off competition from Liverpool and Newcastle to sign the £10m-rated forward in the summer.
There is no doubt Dempsey has been a stand-out performer at Craven Cottage this season and he should certainly be pushing for place in the Premier League team of the year, so it’s no surprise to hear he’s attracting interest from some of the big-hitters. £10m would represent something of a bargain for a player who’s proven in the Premier League and if he refuses to sign a new contract it’s going to be very different for Fulham to hang on to him.

Have gone on about Dempsey since early December and only now has Liverpool’s scouting system put him forward to KD.
Where would we be now had they signed him and Jelavic in the transfer window?
Now we have to face Jelavic on Saturday with our third choice keeper and an unsettled defence. It’s going to be tough!

If you have imagination – picture Dempsey in an arsenal shirt and the sooner he dons one the better because the red devils also picture him in their colors as a ready made solution for the last of their legendary mid-field/attack option. Please act soon Arsene – Clint Dempsey is clearly ready to step up another level, he’ class and will guarantee us goals.
