Kalou - Arsenal & Liverpool interested

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing Chelsea’s Saloman Kalou, according to sources at Goal.com.

The Ivorian attacker is out of contract this summer and is yet to agree on fresh terms at Stamford Bridge, meaning he is free to sign for another club.

Goal.com claim Arsenal and Liverpool are among more than 12 clubs who are interested in his services, with teams from all over Europe in the running. But it’s believed that Kalou wants to remain in the Premier League, putting Arsenal and Liverpool in the box seat.

It appeared likely that the 26-year-old would leave Stamford Bridge after former manager Andre Villas-Boas made him a virtual outcast in the team, handing him only four starts during his seven months in charge at Chelsea.

However, under new boss Roberto Di Matteo, Kalou has featured in all 8 of Chelsea’s league and cup games and started both of their Champions League quarter final matches against Benfica.

This new lease of life could persuade him to extend his stay at the Bridge and Goal.com suggest that Kalou and his agent, Jan de Visser, will sit down with Blues officials in the coming weeks to discuss his future. However, should the Ivorian decide it’s time to leave Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be waiting in the wings.
