Arsenal & Chelsea Target Marouane Fellaini Eyes Move
London duo Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who is concerned he won’t be able to fulfil his ambitions on Merseyside
With the season coming to a close, soon managers will turn their attention to strengthening their squads this summer and we’ll keep you up-to-date on all the latest transfer news. Today sees two London giants linked with a Belgian international.
Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to Goal.com.
The report claims that Fellaini is considering his future at Everton with the Belgian having increasing doubts over the clubs ability to compete at the very top.
Everton missed out on a place in the FA Cup final after being beaten by Mersey rivals Liverpool last Saturday and manager David Moyes has done miracles working on a shoe-string budget for several years now. Everton’s financial struggles have been well documented and they may be forced to sell one of their prized assets if a wealthy benefactor isn’t found.
Goal.com suggest that the Belgian international has informed friends that while he wants to remain in the Premier League, he’s not convinced he can fulfil his ambitions at Everton, opening up the possibility of a summer move.
The 24-year-old can play as both a defensive midfielder and in a more advanced attacking role, and has been a huge success at Goodison Park following his £13.9m move from Standard Liege in 2008.
Chelsea are said to be in the market for a midfielder, while Arsenal may also turn to Fellaini if they miss out on top target Yann M’Vila.
