Iniesta – Torres will decide future soon

Andres Iniesta has said that Fernando Torres will decide on his Anfield future in the next few weeks. The two Spaniards are still basking in their glory after Spain lifted their first FIFA World Cup on Sunday thanks to Iniesta’s dramatic winner late on in the second period of extra time against the Netherlands.

The Spaniards were greeted with jubilant scenes upon their arrival back home as over a million people took to the streets of Madrid adorning their nation’s colours greeting their heroes as they paraded the eighteen carat gold prize. Torres who had a disappointing tournament personally due a lack of influence and goals suffered yet another setback as he injured his groin in the dying embers of the final after he came on as a substitute.

Now with the World Cup over ‘El Nino’ now has the opportunity to weigh up his options and his international team mate Iniesta believes he will be able to sort out his future after a holiday with his family.

“Fernando was fully focused on Spain and we didn’t even talk about his future until last night.” he told the Daily Express.

“He is going to take a break with his wife and daughter,speak to Liverpool and take things from there.”

The little Catalonian magician also revealed the special praise Torres has received from yet another compatriot David Villa who has described the Liverpool man as the most complete striker in world football.

“Any club that has him is lucky to have him. David Villa says Torres is the most complete striker in the world and his future will be decided in the next two weeks.”

Torres is set to undertake a scan in the next 48 hours to reveal the extent of his injury. It is reported that he may miss the start of the new Premier League season.
