Hazard - confirms move

The long awaited transfer saga involving Eden Hazard looks to be over after the player confirmed he’s set to join Chelsea this summer.

The Lille ace has been at the centre of a very public transfer battle between most of Europe’s top clubs in recent months after confirming he’ll be on the move this summer following another impressive season, where he scored 20 goals and racked up 16 assists.

The 21-year-old revealed in March that he’d decided on a move to the Premier League, with media outlets such as ESPN claiming the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham were all vying for his services.

It became apparent that Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City were the leading clubs and it was down to the player to decide his preferred destination. Hazard teased fans on Monday morning by Tweeting that he had made his mind up and rumours circulated that he would be revealing the lucky side later in the day.

Those rumours have come to fruition after the Belgian forward used his official Twitter account on Monday night to reveal he will be joining Chelsea, saying:

“I’m signing for the champions league winner”

No official confirmation has come from Chelsea as yet, but it’s expected the transfer will be completed in the coming days. The Guardian report that Chelsea will pay £32m to Lille and Hazard has agreed a 5-year deal worth over £100,000-a-week.

So he has chosen a club where it isn’t even known who is going to be the manager next season? A team that is virtually unmanageable along as Terry cs are holding the reins? A team that won trophies by playing very (very!) defensively. Whow, he surely didn’t choose Chelsea for footballing reasons. Car crash in slow motion springs to mind.

Sulk? I have nothing to sulk, Ipswich supporter here. Just totally amazed at his diddering and then choosing Chelsea with all their potential problems and style of football totally unsuited to Hazard. I was looking forward to seeing him play in an attractive team like Arsenal or Tottenham or one of the Manchesters.. Sadly he is now at the dour Chelsea. unless you’re a Chelsea fan, you have to be embarrassed at how they won the CL.

If the guy signs for Chelsea, all I hope is that Arsenal wasn’t interested in buying him. There is nothing worse than hearing a player we wanted has been lost to a rival.

After saying he would be choosing between Real Madrid/Barca and Arsenal as they play the football he wants to play he folds his principles for money. Sad day. Still for those wanting to know how Messi would of turned out playing in Enland lets find out.

Reyes Mark II? I give Hazard 3 years of getting kicked to hell by Stoke, West Ham, Sunderland etc and he’ll get homesick for Brussels? or Madrid lol

Hazard should.nt just go chealse bcos of the cl cup the club won . Rather, let him judge himself & know what he offer to the club as a player. Up blues

Spot on! Not only a change of manager (probably) but an extensive team/squad overhaul also. From this point on they are in transition, and certainly not sure of success this coming season or next. Gotta be money! Then why not City you ask. Because at Chelsea, money plus (probably) a guaranteed first team place. At City, money but (possibly) too much bench-time.

whatever, its so obvious that the guy is moving because of the cash and not because he loves 2 play nice football. Don’t expect much from him, as 4 chelsea arsenal will defeat you with 10 of hazard.

The chances of Chelsea winning the CL again are slim, their run to the final, although fantastic, was very lucky.

The team is already being dismantled as we speak and they wont find that level of success for a long time. Eden Haggard will be waiting a long time to be a “European Champion”.

Who else cringed when he called Chelsea European Champions? Yuck!

I have heard alot of envy comments on these guy (Hazard) like it or not he will make a mark at Chelsea same was said about Mata if i can remember… About winning the champions league need i remind you Chelsea have been in the semi finals 6 out of 8 attempts with 2 finals a good return… You know he will command a 1st team at Chelsea but too angry and envy to admit it… Yes if Chelsea have not won the CL he would not have had to rethink his option but winning and making the group stage for next season shows you just how determined we are… You can call it luck or anything how many of you have never wished for a bit of luck at any point in your life you need luck to make it in life no matter how good you think you are… For the records you can not possible call 10trophies in 8years as been lucky would you, What happened to the luck of Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham… Give me a break guys!!!

Thanks everyone for your comnent. Hazard chose Chelsea not because of money or CL. Take a critical look at it,how would it be if RVP, one of the most respected striker in the world is ‘being’ battling with only Emirtate cup? If its me i think i have made the right choice. Welcome bro. UP CHELSEA….. We rule the World.

Everyone wanted Hazard. We at Arsenal wanted him too, may be even earlier than others. But the fact is, we also knew we would never be able to compete for him with City and Chelsea in the fray. Now, he has made his choice and it is Chelsea. Why all the vituperation? I think Chelsea is a better suited for Hazard than City with its present cache of high profile players competing for first team action.

The lucky team what are they lucky to have you, hope you can handle the physical side, because you already sound like you have tickets on yourself. I would like to see him play for Everton where he would have to do a lot more work than at Chelsea that would tell us what sort of a player he really is.
