Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Close On Brazilian Ace

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Porto striker Hulk, with the Telegraph claiming a £40m deal is ’90 per cent’ complete and personal terms are agreed.

With the summer transfer window set to open, we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest Chelsea transfer news. Today, the Blues are thought to be close to signing a Brazilian striker.

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Porto striker Hulk, with the Telegraph suggesting the deal is ’90 per cent’ complete.

The report claims that the Portuguese side are still hopeful of getting a fee of around £60m for the powerful forward, but the Telegraph suggest a £40m deal is nearing completion, with the player said to have already agreed personal terms.

Porto originally claimed they wouldn’t sell Hulk for anything less than his £80m release clause, but have softened that stance after the Brazilian made public his desire to leave this summer, and it’s likely they will now accept a deal for around half that figure.

The 25-year-old scored 21 goals in 38 appearances last season to help Porto land the league title and has become a regular in the Brazilian national team.

Hulk can play either on the right of a forward three or through the middle, so it seems likely that Chelsea’s front line could consist of Eden Hazard, Fernando Torres and Hulk next season with Juan Mata thought to be playing in a more central role behind the striker.

That is certainly a formidable looking attack and Torres will have no excuses about lack of creativity or service with that lot playing around him.

I wonder if Sturridge is going to be sold? He has looked to be a self centered guy. Doubtful how he will interact ego wise with the likes of the big names coming in?

    Required Transfers:
Hulk- For attacking versatility and because we can :-). I also think this will make malouda dissappear, yay!
cm- we need some one who can pass the ball well and distribute the ball from deep
    rb-a good sub for ivano
All this equals chelsea champions of europe again

Hulk will be a good addition hoping u don’t further frustrate young Lukaku if kept at de Bridge.De Bruyn may be a gud lad to keep around coz of his pace.My word we have more enough wings but bench torres if he won’t be scoring. We don’t want names but goals.

Chelsea will be a good team with Hulk & Eden Hazard.I’ll prefer this starting eleven:
    -Marko Marin,Cahill,Essein,Kelvin De Bruyne,Turnbull,Oriol Romeo,Sturridge,Ryan Betran.
On Loan Players:Romelu Lukaku should be loaned out to any EPL Clubs to gain experience.I dont like the way he’s been left out, frustrating his ambitions.

Hulk will be a fantastic addiction while falcao should be d next buy & a replacement 4 bosingua is also compulsory.

  19. AU

    May 30, 2012 at 2:33 pm

Senza , u r closest to getting it right but we have a need for another striker that can sub at least two positions upfront. Chasing 7 titles ( playing about 70 games) is a long season. Plus Piazon, Chalobah are ready for some playing time. Lukaku needs an epl season long loan as does Kevin. 1st X1,
    Ivan, Luiz, Terry, Cole
    Ramires, Mikel
    Hulk, Mata, Hazard
Subs: Turnbull, Van Der Weil, Cahill, Lampard, Sturridge, Piazon, Marin.

Or sell Ivanovic, play Van Der Weil and put Chalobah behind him on the bench. In that case, do not sell Ferreira until January just in case.
