Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be dropped by Roy Hodgson tonight against Sweden, with Liverpool striker Andy Carroll set for a recall, according to Sky Sports News.

Chamberlain made his competitive debut for England in their Group D opener against France last Monday, playing around 70 minutes on the left wing as the Three Lions draw 1-1 with Les Bleus.

But despite putting in an assured display, the Oxe is set to be replaced with Andy Carroll as Hodgson looks to take advantage of Sweden’s suspect defence.

The Swedes lost their opener 2-1 to Ukraine with both Andriy Shevchenko goals coming from headers, which has lead to Hodgson reshuffling his side to accommodate the 6ft 3 inch Carroll.

The 23-year-old Anfield striker is likely to partner Danny Welbeck up front with Ashley Young returning to the left in a more traditional 4-4-2 formation. The rest of the team is expected to be unchanged.
