Disgraced Samir Nasri Apologises For Outburst
Former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has apologised to children and supporters after the Manchester City ace had an X-rated outburst at a French journalist.
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has apologised to children and supporters over his x-rated outburst at a French journalist.
The former Arsenal ace was involved in a heated exchange with a French reporter following France’s 2-0 quarter final defeat to Spain at Euro 2012. When asked for his thoughts on the game, Nasri blasted:
“You are looking for s**t, looking for trouble. F*** you, go f*** your mother, you son of a b****.”
Nasri is quoted as saying in the Mirror.
France boss Laurent Blanc and the France football federation both condemned the midfielders behaviour and a ban from national team duties has been suggested as a possible punishment.
However, according to the Mirror, Nasri has used his official Twitter account to apologise to supporters, and particularly children, for the language he used during his outburst.
“The supporters and in particular children should know that I regret that my language may have shocked them.
“I love the France team, football, and I have a profound respect for the spectators.”
However, Nasri failed to apologise to the reporter, adding he will reveal all when the time is right:
“I will explain further when the time comes.”
The Mirror believe that the French football federation will meet next week to discuss Nasri’s behaviour, as well as that of team mates Hatem Ben Arfa and Jeremy Menez.
Nasri has a strained relationship with French reporters and is believed to have given them a ‘shhh’ sign after he scored the equaliser against England in their Group D opener.
The midfielder has also had run-ins with former Arsenal team-mates William Gallas, with the pair now barely on speaking terms.
