Unsettled Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will hold fresh talks over his future with manager Arsenal Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis this week, according to the Mirror.

The report claims that van Persie is now back in London after returning from his holiday in the Caribbean at the weekend and will meet with the Gunners supremos in the coming days.

Wenger is keen to meet his captain on his own without interference from his agent Kees Vos. The Frenchman wants to see if the statement released last week accurately reflect his feelings and to establish whether he has any hope of persuading the 28-year-old to see out the final year of his contract.

Wenger and the Arsenal board are said to be fuming after Vos released a statement declaring RVP wont be signing a new contract without first consulting the club.

Manchester City and Juventus continue to lead the race to sign the Dutchman and are both expected to make their interest official this week.

Roberto Mancini is desperate to land Van Persie and it’s believed the Premier League champions will submit a bid of around £15m once they agree a deal to sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Tottenham.

Officials at the Etihad are confident they can get the 30-goal striker on the cheap and are determined not o pay over the odds for a player who is almost 29, has a poor injury record and has publicly confirmed he wont be signing a new contract at the Emirates.

This stance may play into the hands of Juventus, with the Italians keen to conclude a deal quickly and know the Gunners would prefer to sell abroad.

Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid are all also monitoring the situation and could yet enter the bidding should the Dutchman become available this summer.

Face facts. He’s gone. No player is bigger than the club not RVP not Henry nobody. RVP wants to dictate transfer policy and no player has that right no matter how good they are. The statement was unnecesary and disloyal to a club that supported him so well for so long.
If you read between the lines and look at comments made last year…RVP wants Van der Vart signed and Ramsey gone. Never going to happen and he shouldn’t expect it. Its arrogant and shows a distrust of the manager. Say what you like about the board and the policy THEY set regarding wages and tranfers. But Wenger does an amazing job and always has done. How many years have the pundits been saying ohy now all Arsenal can hope for is midtable, hell last year they were saying we awere relegationh bound! Time and time again we make the Champiosn League. Silver ware would be nice but Champions League means we attract better level players and maintain our ability to compete for titles.

Damn right Door Gunner, RvP should be sold asap, he was a great captain and player last season but in my eyes he has flushed all that in the toilet. Let him go to Mancity where funds are limitless.

Hi all. Pls blame not arsene for RVP decission. No coach will give much contract to an injury prone player. Its high time he show faithfulness to d club dt stood by him during his injury yrs. If he chooses to leave, wenger should just look forward nd make neceessary purchased. He season start soon. Gunners for lyf.

one thing hold, for Van Persie to be persuaded to sign new contract David Dein must be among those members to negotiate with him.All gunners fans let us be praying ’cause this is last chance for RVP to stay…

      July 10, 2012 at 9:00 am

RVP’s agent my well be Kess Vos, but Darren Dein is their advisor.

So I wouldn’t trust a Dein unless David was back in his old role at the club.

I thank u all 4 running comment on this matter, what I think there is that if van RVP want to go wenger should allow him to go. What I believe is that Arsenal will remain
Arsenal. there are some player who wenger have brought up like that at the end they left, so let him to decide on his own. Thanks.

RVP will be injured next season. Plz let him go. If the club can be patient with him in his previous dark seasons why then hold the club & its fans to ransom? He want to go ” YES” don’t make the club a panick sale. He should sign a new deal with a condition of letting him leave when ever he wishes to. That way the club can recoup some reasonable amount instead of allowing man shity price a super star made in Arsenal for 15m. Let that betrayer leave we can cope.
