Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, who’s rated at £20m by his club

Four Premier League clubs are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have all shown an interest in signing the Polish hitman, who’s rated at around £20m by his current club.

New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has an apparent £50m ‘war chest’ to spend this summer with a striker thought to be high on his priority list. The Portuguese tactician is believed to have recommended Lewandowski to officials at White Hart Lane  as the club struggles to finalise a deal to sign Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent basis.

Tottenham will face competition from London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal though, with both clubs on the look-out for a new striker this summer. Chelsea need to find a replacement for Didier Drogba while the Gunners have identified the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Robin van Persie, who is expected to leave the club this summer after refusing to sign a new contract.

Sir Alex Ferguson is also a huge fan of Lewandowski’s and Poland manager Franciszek Smuda has recently claimed that the Dortmund front man was on his way to Old Trafford. However, a deal hasn’t been finalised as Fergie is focusing on strengthening his midfield ahead of the new season.

Lewandowski was the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season as his 30 goals helped Dortmund win a league and cup double.

Football Talk Verdict

After his impressive goal tally last term, it’s no surprise Lewandowski is attracting interest from the Premier League big-boys. Will he end up in the Premier League? Possibly, but right now it’s anyone’s guess where he’ll go as there doesn’t seem to be a front-runner.

Chelsea may have other targets in mind, such as Hulk or Jovetic, while Tottenham are still working hard to secure Adebayor. Arsenal won’t make a move until the future of RVP is sorted so if Lewandowski does come to the Prem, it won’t be any time soon.
