Arsenal Board To Sanction £15m Walcott Sale?

Arsenal could be set to cash in on Theo Walcott with Liverpool ready to offer £15m for the England winger, who is also a target for European champions Chelsea.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Liverpool are linked with a move for Theo Walcott.

Arsenal could be set to cash in on Theo Walcott with Liverpool ready to offer £15m for the England winger, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that the Reds are ready to rival Chelsea for the signature of Walcott, who has just 12 months to run on his current contract and is no nearer reaching an agreement to extend his stay with the Gunners.

The 23-year-old is believed to be holding out for £100,000-a-week and the club are showing no signs of giving in and offering him those terms. This has lead to a stand-off and the Mirror suggest the Arsenal board are now ready to cash in and sell the pacey forward, despite manager Arsene Wenger adamant he wants to keep hold of him.

Walcott enjoyed a decent season for the Gunners last term, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists in his 35 league appearances including a vital brace in Arsenal’s 5-2 win over north London rivals Tottenham at the Emirates.

He has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and PSG already this summer but new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to take advantage of his uncertain future and offer £15m for the former Southampton youngster, and could sell Andy Carroll to raise the required funds.

Rodgers is willing to let the target man leave this summer and Newcastle have been linked with a loan move for their former striker, although Liverpool are thought to favour a permanent sale.
