Arsenal are lining up a £15m move for highly-rated Brazilian playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports earlier in the week claimed the Gunners were interested in the 22-year-old attacker and boss Arsene Wenger has been spotted watching the Brazil Olympic squad training at Arsenal’s London Colney training base, with Ganso among the players on show.

The Daily Mail claim that Wenger has sent scouts to run-the-rule over the Santos ace during Friday nights friendly between Brazil and Great Britain, with a view to launching a £15m move.

Wenger is keen to add an attack-minded midfielder to his squad this summer as he looks to fill the void left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, and Ganso is understood to be high on his wish-list after failing in his efforts to land the Chelsea-bound Oscar.

Ganso has become one of the most highly-rated prospects in South America after a string of impressive displays for Santos and has previously been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham.

The 22-year-old’s agent, Delcir Sonda, confirmed earlier this month that Ganso had played his last game for Santos after talks over a new deal broke down.
