North London due Arsenal and Tottenham are fighting it out to sign goalkeeper Julio Cesar, who has been made available for transfer by Inter Milan, according to talkSPORT.
The 32-year-old Brazilian stopper is expected to leave Inter after the Italians signed Samir Handanovic from Udinese last month, with coach Andrea Stamaccioni telling Cesar he is no longer in his first team plans for next season.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be looking for a reliable goalkeeper to prove competition for No.1 Wojciech Szczesny, while Tottenham are in need of a long-term replacement for 41-year-old Brad Friedel, and talkSPORT report that both managers have made enquiries for Cesar.
However, the London rivals will face stiff competition from Serie A side Roma, who are understood to be in pole position to land him.
The experienced keeper has racked up 228 appearances during his seven years at the San Siro and has also earned 64 caps for his country.

maybe its better to get a experienced keeper ,then a young one with potential.when we see somebody in a spurs shirt we believe.otherwise we keep our options open.

AW should have to sign Cesar and let the untrusted guy Fabiniaski get some rest and should use the current #1 as a back up plan, if arsenal is for sure to get some silverware next year. in fact Carzola and Mvilla should also be included plus if Van is to leave lorinete should also be included. Then we can sing our sing as abudabi city and devil utd and chelsik go cry!!!!

Julio will be a great signing,adding up santi n nuri will be fantasic but aw need to start spending the cash now or watch us go trophyless again,

I can’t beleive there after a new goalkeeper . They have 1 in GOMES . The man is world class. Yes he made a few mistakes . But wee all do. Give him another chance I say . When he made the mistakes the defence was shaky . He had no confidence in them . Give Gomes a go see how he goes I say.
