Following Robbie Keane’s impressive performances in the pre-season friendlies, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp intends to include the Republic of Ireland international in his 25-man squad for this Premier League Season.

Keane was reported to quit Spurs this summer, given that last year he lost his place in the first team and was sent on loan to play for Glasgow Celtic. Both Fulham and Aston Villa have shown interest in the Republic of Ireland international this summer. However, according to manager Harry Redknapp, the Irishman’s career with Spurs might not be over.

In an interview given to The Telegraph, Redknapp said:

“His situation is that he is still a very good player.  He looked sharp and bright here. He wants to play every game and if he keeps playing like that, there is no reason why he cannot. It was a fantastic finish. He is one of our better players. I cannot say for certain that he will stay, because who knows what can happen in football, but at the moment I see him as part of our team. There is every chance he could start the season, but if it does not work out, he will be one of the first one to come and tell me he needs to play somewhere.”

Robbie Keane has definitely had a wonderful pre-season and he surely has high hopes to stay at least one more year with Spurs.

Have your say! Do you think Robbie will regain his place in the first team? Or will he leave Spurs again?
