Cavani Hints At Premier League Move

Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani has hinted he could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League amid reported interest from rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani has hinted he could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News.

The 25-year-old has become one of Europe’s most wanted strikers after another superb season in Italy, where he scored 33 goals in 43 appearances for Napoli last term.

This form has attracted interest from several European heavyweights, with Sky Sports claiming Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs chasing the powerful front man this summer.

Cavani is currently in the UK representing his country at the London 2012 Olympic Games but took the time to answer questions regarding his future. When quizzed about reported interest from the Premier League, Cavani reaffirmed his commitment to Napoli but revealed he may be tempted to try his luck in England if one of the big clubs came calling.

“The big English clubs want me? I answer: Forza Napoli! (Power Napoli!)

“But it is said that English football is art, why not think about it one day if there is that possibility?”

Cavani is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News

It was reported last week that Cavani was set to demand a move away from Naples after his wife was mugged whilst walking to her car, however the South American has claimed the attacker was not a football supporter.

“But it was not a football fan. It is not one of those Neapolitans who, in recent years, have shown me such great affection.”

Cavani is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis recently claimed it would take a bid of £78m to land the talented striker.

Edison Cavani will represent a massive signing for the rejuvinated Chelsea side.I strongly believe that if Abrahmovich wanted to sign him he will definitely do.But pls I urge Chelsea Fan not to disrespect Fernando Torres with their comments. Its true he did not meet our various expectation but we should learn to continue supporting him.Abrahamovich should try add Cavani to our darling Chelsea

We already have Torres up front and Lukaku as his back up and we don’t want an expensive striker like Cavani. If Lukaku is going on loan, Chelsea can sign a good striker Demba BA at low cost as back up for Torres. A right back is needed.

Anyone that would ignore someone who attacked their wife with this amount of ignorance is not a good man in my opinion.

If my wife was mugged in a foreign country i’d hit the roof and go off my nut, I would remove her from the country with all haste.

Clearly she was targeted because of being a rich footballers wife.
