Liverpool Sign German Starlet

Liverpool have agreed a £1m deal to sign German youngster Samed Yesil from Bayer Leverkusen, with the exciting striker becoming Rodgers’ fourth summer signing.

Liverpool have agreed a £1m deal to sign German youngster Samed Yesil from Bayer Leverkusen, the club has confirmed.

A statement on the clubs official website confirmed the news with the 18-year-old striker set to start life in the youth ranks before working his way up to the first team. Yesil told Liverpoolfc.com:

“The first thing is that I have to train and then in one or two years I hope, step by step, to be in the first team.

“It is my dream to play for Liverpool and I will give my all.”

Yesil is one of the most highly-rated young strikers in Germany and has already represented his nation at under 16, 17 and 18 level and made his mark at last years Under-17 World Cup, scoring six goals.

The exciting forward was not involved during Leverkusen’s pre-season friendly with Liverpool at Anfield earlier in the summer but he caught the eye of the Reds scouting staff after hitting an impressive 56 goals in just 63 researve team games in recent years.

Yesil will join Liverpool from Leverkusen, who are managed by former Kop favourite Sami Hyypia, with the Guardian claiming the fee will be around £1m. He becomes Brendan Rodgers’ fourth signing after Fabio Borini, Joe Allen and Oussama Assaidi all made the move to Anfield.
