Injury Boost As Midfielder Reveals His Comeback Date

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed he is set to return to full training ahead of schedule, with his comeback set for less than two weeks time.

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed he is set to return to full training in less than two weeks time.

The 20-year-old has been on the sidelines for over seven months after suffering a cruciate ligament injury during the early stages of his loan spell with Wolves last season.

The Ghana-born midfielder picked up a similar injury to his other knee back in August 2010 but returned to action after nine months, and it seems he’s ahead of that schedule this time around.

Frimpong took to his official Twitter account to announce that he’s expecting to return to training with the rest of the Arsenal squad on the 17th of September:

“I will be back in full training with the squad on 17th on this month. Two cruciate knee injuries couldn’t end my career. It’s been a long 7 months.”

If all goes to plan, Frimpong could be back in contention for a first team place by the end of the month. A realistic comeback game could be the upcoming Capital One Cup 3rd round fixture against Coventry at the Emirates on the 26th September. Although Arsene Wenger won’t be rushing him back after such a lengthy spell out the game, so will ensure he’s 100% ready before throwing him back into action.
