Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has been boosted with the news that captain John Terry is expected to return to action from his knee injury sooner than expected
Chelsea have been boosted with the news that captain John Terry is expected to return to action from his knee injury sooner than expected, according to ITV Sport.
Terry was forced off in the first half of the Blues 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last Sunday after a collision with Luis Saurez. Initial fears were that the centre back had seriously damaged the cruciate ligaments in his knee, which would sideline him for several months.
Those fears were eased when Chelsea revealed he would be facing weeks out, not months, but the club were waiting on further tests to reveal the true extent of the injury.
Speaking today at his weekly press conference ahead of this weekends game at WBA, Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that while he has strained his medial cruciate ligament, the 31-year-old could now be back in action in as little as three weeks.
“With JT, we’re looking at approximately three weeks. Fortunately, it’s not as bad as we first thought. It’s an MCL (medial cruciate ligament) strain.”
Di Matteo is quoted as saying by ITV

am very very relieve cos JT’s presence at d back line is always a breath of relief and it gives me confidence for solid defence. I luv u JT and I wish u speedy recovery cos I can’t wait to see in d back four of Chelsea’s color.
