Bould Tears Into Underperforming Arsenal Players

Arsene Wenger’s No.2 Steve Bould gave the under-performing Arsenal team a severe dressing-down after their 2-0 defeat to Swansea at the Emirates on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger’s No.2 Steve Bould is said to have given the under-performing Arsenal team a severe dressing-down after their shock 2-0 defeat to Swansea at the Emirates on Saturday, according to the Mirror.

Following another inept performance in front of the home support, which has left us sitting 10th in the table and a full 15 points off league leaders Manchster United, Bould tore into the players in the dressing room during a 40 minute inquest, furiously shouting:

“You’ve let us down and you’ve been letting us down all season.”

“None of you are taking responsibility.”

Bould is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

It’s difficult to argue with Stevie on this one. It’s about time someone told the players some home truths. Hopefully a bit of tough love will have a positive effect on the players.

Arsene is hardly known for his dressing room rants, so it’s good to see his new No.2 is willing to do the dirty work once in a while. In fact, i think we need to see more of this from Bouldy, especially during games.

Some of the players are understood to be suffering from fatigue, complaining about the tough fixture programme and also that the training levels are not being scaled back as they are at other Champions League clubs.

Summer signings Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla have been shocked by the rigorous fixture list and training regimes. There is no doubt some players look knackered on the pitch and need a rest, Cazorla, Podolski and Arteta in particular.

While fatigue and tiredness would explain a few inconsistent performances this season, it doesn’t explain everything that’s wrong with the team at present.

The Mirror claim Wenger will ring the changes for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Olympiakos, with Walcott, Wilshere, Podolski, Cazorla and Arteta all likely to be rested.
