tottenham news

Tottenham welcome Panthianikos to White Hart Lane tonight looking to secure their passage through to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Spurs currently sit second in Group J and will ensure qualification to the last 32 if they avoid defeat against the Greeks. However, if the visitors win they will leapfrog Tottenham and snatch a place in the next round.

Andre Villas-Boas side head into the game in fine form having won their last three Premier League games and will therefore be full of confidence going into the game tonight.

Team News

The Portuguese boss will have to make do without Gareth Bale after he picked up a hamstring injury against Fulham at the weekend and is expected to be out for 10 days.

Defender Michael Dawson is also missing after being forced off with a hamstring strain against the Cottagers. Striker Emmanuel Adebayor could get a run-out with the in-form Jermain Defoe getting a rest.

Midfielder Scott Parker made his comeback for the reserves in midweek but wont be risked tonight, while Younes Kaboul and Benoit Assou-Ekotto both remain out.

Panathinaikos coach Juan Roman Rocha brings a strong squad to the Lane with no fresh injury concerns. Striker Toche is expected to return up front with Ibrahim Sissoko likely to play just behind the Spaniard.
