With the January transfer window now open for business we’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, is Yann M’Vila heading for Arsenal?

M’Vila – Arsenal to renew interest?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to renew his interest in Yann M’Vila with the Rennes midfielder now available for a cut-price £7m, according to the Daily Star.

Many Gooners will recall the rumours linking M’Vila with a move to the Emirates in the summer and the report claims we tried sign him but were put off by the £25m valuation Rennes had placed on his head.

However, it appears his valuation has plummeted in recent months and with his contract understood to expire at the end of the season, the Daily Star claims the 22-year-old is now available for just £7m and suggest he could be on his way to the Emirates this month with Wenger set to renew his interest.

The player himself has recently admitted he will be on the move if a suitable offer comes in:

“I am at Rennes at the moment so let’s see what happens.

“If the club receives a good offer and I like the destination then I will go – there is no doubt about that.”

M’Vila is quoted as saying by the Daily Star

M’Vila’s form has suffered this season after a difficult summer at the European championships with France and after a string of disciplinary issues he was banned from international duty until June 2014.

While his talent can not be questioned, his attitude certainly can be but if Arsene Wenger thinks he can tame him, I’m all for us signing the precocious youngster.

I’ve been saying for months that I think we need to sign a powerful, ball-winning midfielder and M’Vila would fit that bill. If the Stars report is accurate and he’s available for just £7m, I think that would represent something of a bargain, so as long as we can control his behavior off the pitch I would love to see the midfielder come to north London this month.

Firstly does his contract actually expire this summer? Can’t see it myself because we’d be able to sign him on a pre-contract, and as far as I’m aware he signed an extension in 2011 to keep him at Rennes until 2015. On top of this I’m not sure if his temperament would be very good in the dressing room. Sounds to me like he still has some growing up to do.

Doesnt anyone remember Viera’s temprement before he arrived and everyone saying he needed tameing, and how he kick started the best times Arsenal have ever seen! We need a rough, tough tackler to put it up the other team and boss the midfield!! I think it could be the start of the next revolution…Sign him up!

M’Villa is just the sort of player we need. A midfielder that can actually provide some protection to our back four.

It is glaring that the present Arsenal sqaud does not have holding midfielder after the exit of Alex Song,so I would like our manager to sign Yann M’villa on time.

M’Vila should be top priority IMO. Arteta has done a decent job, but its not his true position, M’Vila specializes in defense, something Arsenal desperately need to improve in. Forget his reputation, his stats speak for themself as he is one of the cleanist and most efficient tacklers in Europe, and will only improve. French legend Desailly said he should be a must sign for Arsenal, as he will be WORLD CLASS in a few years. Sign him up Wenger!

It will be a great acquisation for us,as he’s a physical and commanding midfielder, all Sir wenger needs to do is to change his habitual mindset.

70M minus 7M will still give you alot amount of money so please manager sign this M’Villa, a good striker and a powerful/balanced defender.

Buying players is one thing. Players need to love the club more than the money. How can we expect passion from mercenaries. Walcott should sign or piss off. His stalling affects the other players. Petulant twit. I hope it all works out. On paper arsenal are strong as anyone. Belief.

I think we don’t need him…we should buy the centre back from montpelier…he is cheap, can play defensive mid ,centre back and right back….just what we need….

What’s the point of getting a cross between Adebayor and Anelka. Guaranteed unrest in the changing room and the second he becomes worth having WHAM!!! Of to Manchester, the blue side of Brompton, Barcelona or PSG and his middle finger extended. It’s all crap. If we get this guy, we should have got Joey Barton instead, a player who gets less cards, has Prem Experience, is tough, knows how to galvanise team mates into fighting back from defeat and who is also a technically better player than most people realise. He was also free. I will shake my head at the news of M’vila signing for us and know without doubt that Wenger has lost the plot. No way can you sign M’Vila after allowing Barton to escape.

i dont think we will sign anyone of importance wenger will get to the end of the window and say he tried ,well that aint good enough we all know what fixtures we have got coming up, a manager would have already brought the players in ,we sold van persie and he expects us to wait for the next player that he can nurture to there best just to sell them and make more money,as for us fans expecting him to find the next messi ,we had players atthere best and he couldnt manage to keep them so dont expect to much with the way our club is run.

Arsenal needs to buy all three players adrain lopez, david villa and yann’man villa as quickly as possible as they cant afford leave these players for other clubs to nab away from us as wenger always wonders which players to get ever summer and januaey if he’s unsure just buy all three and a better defender

i hope i am wrong but i cant see us getting anyone that is being named we cant even get walcott contract sorted out (the money grabbing sht)we should have been able to keep the players we have had ,over the last five years in every window i believed that if we added 1or2 players to help theteam we could have won something but insead we lost 1or2 players we probbly have lost a winning team in the last 7 years van persie eduardo flamini fabregas song hleb anyone add anymore names to this i didnt mind baptista and reyes.i love the players that we have now but i think they need a lift it must be heart breaking to get the heart of the team sold evey year ,we need a change and something to give this team a real lift .

Without a doubt an Arsenal Player !! Yann is the Man to brings order to our midfield and let people play there natural game !! Lets be truthful Song wasn’t the best at it he wandered upfront to much.. Yes could tackle when he was in position to tackle but when was he ??? Arteta is a Great leader and mucks in well as a holding player but we all know he would be better as a link man that can get back and do his defensive duty!! Then you have David Villa coming i personally see this as a mistake not coz he isnt good enough but price and age and wage !! no sell on price either when you have for less a 24 yr old in Lopez good price experienced played along Santi for Spain. He can head use both feet equally and he is good already and has time to get even better wages we could easily match and he has sell on price !! If i was Wenger i would have been hassling Shawcross before he signed a new deal and one i would still ask about year in year out !! and defender that we need !! Left back needs to be thought about aswell with Santos finished we need cover we could bring Yennaris into the first team and also Gnarby to push Chambo on !!but what do i know !! i would also play man marker at set pieces and corners tight makes it hard work to win a header !! never liked zonal !! but again what do i know !!
