Arsenal welcome Swansea City to the Emirates on Wednesday night for their FA Cup third round replay and boss Arsene Wenger has given a team and injury news update ahead of the game.

Speaking to Arsenal.com, the boss gave the latest news on Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Lukasz Fabianski, as well as confirm defender Laurent Koscielny will miss the game through suspension after seeing red against Manchester City at the weekend. The Frenchman will be replaced by Russian outcast Andrey Arshavin in the squad for the Swansea game.

Arteta missed the City clash after picking up a calf strain in training on Friday but Wenger has confirmed it’s only a minor grade one injury so Mikel should be back in around two-to-three weeks time.

Many Arsenal fans are wondering why Tomas Rosicky hasn’t been featuring in recent weeks and the boss claims the midfielder has picked up a calf problem and won’t be fit to face the Swans on Wednesday.

Forgotten goalkeeper Fabianski hasn’t played at all this season due to injury (and lack of ability) but is closing in on a return and should be back in full training in around a weeks time. Here is what Arsene told the clubs official website:

on the FA Cup replay…

We have Koscielny suspended for tomorrow night and everybody else will be available. He will be replaced in the squad by Arshavin.

on Mikel Arteta…

Arteta’s injury could be shorter than three weeks because it’s a minor calf strain. It’s a light grade one so it could be quicker than three weeks.

on Tomas Rosicky…

Rosicky is still out. He has a little calf problem. I wanted to involve him tomorrow night but it’s too short.

on Lukasz Fabianski…

He’s the only one injured, along with Arteta now. He’s one more week away from full training I think.
