Another player is out the Emirates door tonight Gooners as midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season, the club have confirmed on Arsenal.com.

Frimpong has struggled to break into the first team since returning from a serious knee injury picked up while on loan at Wolves last season. He returned to fitness back in October and was sent out on loan to Charlton for six weeks and impressed during his six appearances for the club.

However, it seems he still needs to improve his match sharpness before he’s going to be considered for the first team at Arsenal and Arsene Wenger has sent him out on loan to get some minutes under his belt.

The club have confirmed tonight that the 21-year-old will make the short trip across London to link up with Martin Jol’s Fulham for the rest of the season.

Frimpong’s departure leaves us looking incredibly light in the defensive midfield area so it would be almost negligible for boss Arsene Wenger not to strengthen in this area before the January transfer window closes next week.

While Frimpong isn’t currently considered a first team regular, he was at least an option if needed during the second half of the season so I’d be majorly surprised if a replacement wasn’t lined up. We’ve got less than a week to wait to see what the boss comes up with, fingers crossed he doesn’t disappoint.
