Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla has told Arsenal.com that he’s happy at Arsenal and is satisfied with how his first seven months have gone, despite the clubs inconsistent performances on the pitch.

Cazorla made the move to north London from Malaga last summer and has been a huge hit, scoring 11 goals in his 36 appearances so far and a string of impressive displays have seen him win three Arsenal Player of the Month awards.

He’s settled in quicker than many would have expected but the Spanish midfielder has told the clubs official website that he thinks he’s adapted to the Premier League very well and feels a lot of that is down to the way Arsenal play.

The 28-year-old also says he’s satisfied with his first seven months at the club but feels the team needs to cut out mistakes on the pitch if they’re to put a consistent run together.

“I think I’ve had a positive seven months personally as I have been able to come to a team like Arsenal and play in a great league like the Premier League,” Cazorla told Arsenal Player.

“On the pitch, we have definitely had our ups and downs; there have been good times and bad times. I think that the team has lacked a bit of consistency and sometimes we have made mistakes that have cost us dearly. Removing these from our game will help us improve in the future.

“But it hasn’t been difficult adapting to Arsenal’s style of play or even to the Premier League. It is a bit different to La Liga in Spain but I’ve adapted very well and I think Arsenal’s style of play has made it a lot easier for me.

“I was expecting to come into a league that would be a bit more physical, a bit quicker, and had a greater intensity than what I was used to. I was prepared for that, especially the physical side, so I don’t think it was hard for me to adapt.”

Cazorla left Malaga despite leading them to the Champions League for the first time in their history last season but the playmaker claims the lure of playing for a ‘massive’ club like Arsenal was something he couldn’t turn down and he’s very happy at the Emirates due to how well the club treats it’s players. He continued:

“That was the leap I wanted to make, I wanted to go to a big club and an historic club like Arsenal.

“I’m happy here. The Club’s influence is enormous and it’s incredible that it has so many fans around the world because that means it really is a massive club. Generally, I’m happy with everything here because the Club treats its players so well.” Cazorla told Arsenal.com

I must admit I think Cazorla has been one of our best signings in recent memory. He’s truly a world class player, which is something we’ve not bought for a long time, and has really made a difference at key times – his match-winning brace against Sunderland is a key example.

He’s fitted into our system seamlessly and links up wonderfully well with the likes of Jack Wilshere in midfield, but I think once we add a ‘proper’ defensive midfielder to the team and give Santi and Jack some protection, our midfield will be unstoppable.
